When & Where do we Ring?

ULSCR ringing is based at St Olave's Church, Hart Street in the City of London (near Tower Hill Tube - District & Circle Lines).

Practices: Thurs eve 1900-2030 (term time)
Service ringing: 1030-1100 (1st/3rd Sundays).

Some practices take place at other London towers (see Upcoming Events) or contact the Master.

"Bellringing is a very social team activity that introduces you to a global group of friends!"

There are a number of key stages involved in learning bellringing.

First you learn the technique (see right). You are taught this by learning each 'stroke' separately: 'Handstroke (see red section of rope)' and 'Backstroke'. Once you have mastered this, you typically move onto "Rounds and Call Changes" and eventually method (continuous 'piece of music' learnt of-by-heart beforehand).
