Hi Everyone!
UL Freshers’ Tour is nearly upon us – Saturday 31st October! This year we’ll be going to the Epsom area.
Itinerary so far is (see map below):
- 10:00-11:00 = SS Mary & Nicholas, Leatherhead (10 bells, 19-0-12)
- 11:30-12:15 = St Giles, Ashtead (8 bells, 12-3-26)
- LUNCH – Haywain, Epsom – we need pre-order! Please see the following menu: FreshersTourMenu.pdf
- 2:30-3:30 = St Martin of Tours, Epsom (10 bells, 16-0-2)
- 4:00-4:45 = All Saints, Banstead (8 bells, 21-0-27)
We think you have the following travel options (not sure which is cheaper yet):
- get a zones 1-6 travel card with an extension to Leatherhead
- get single to Leatherhead & a single back from Epsom or Ewell
- get a return to Leatherhead (breaking your journey shouldn’t be a problem but please check!)
There will be an option to cycle between towers but lifts should be available – there are 5 cars so far: Chris Brown, Matt Cousins, Becca Cullen, Charlotte Ellis & me.
For anyone unsure where they are going (e.g. any freshers) we’ll arrange for UL member(s) to meet you at Waterloo in the morning! We think either of the following trains would be suitable:
* 8:39 – depart Waterloo (arrive 9:24)
* 8:54 – depart Waterloo (arrive 9:35)
…the train after leaves it rather too tight to get to Leatherhead tower…
